Theater Builds a Community (S03E12)
Charles Holmes on Ken’s Think Tank Season 3, Episode 12
Charles and I were discussing the way theater brings people together from all walks of life – crossing social barriers . . . and age barriers. Through this process, you have older and younger people begin as strangers and end as friends.
“This show, Robinhood, we have actors in it that in their 70’s all the way down to some children that are 9 or 10 years old.”
“You get to see that community. That’s what it turns out to be. By the time the play is over, everybody knows everybody. Everybody’s made friends. We all have each other’s phone numbers. We help each other out when we can.”
“We form not just your community theater, but there is a community of theater in Farmington.”
