S05E07 – Sallyanne Bachman Reveals Her Life Behind the Fame
You know how you meet somebody, and after listening to their story, think to yourself . . . how is it possible that I’ve gone this long without knowing this person?
That’s Sallyanne Bachman. There are three things that become crystal clear when you meet Sallyanne . . . 1) She loves her late husband . . . 2) She loves to sing . . . and 3) She loves talking to people. But there’s a fourth that became apparent to me while talking to her . . . she loves life.
Sallyanne insisted that I come into her home and flip through her very large binder to see all of the photos taken of her and her family hanging out with classic celebrities. She’s met and performed with people like Bob Hope, Red Skelton, Liberace, Steve Allen, Goldie Hawn . . . the list goes on and on.
She sang show tunes, and opera all over the country and all over the world . . . she got her start in Albuquerque, NM . . . and now she lives in Farmington singing jazz and blues with local artists like Delbert Anderson.
Oh yeah . . . did I mention that she’s 87 years old? She’s going to hop in the truck, and I’m going to do my best to just to keep up with her because this girl is still going places!
